Kirk Skaugen is the Executive Vice President of Lenovo and President of Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group, assuming the role in November 2016. He is a member of Lenovo’s Executive Committee. In this capacity, Skaugen leads Lenovo’s end-to-end data center, edge and smarter infrastructure businesses including Hyperscale & Cloud, High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence, Software Defined Infrastructure, Edge Computing/IOT, Telecommunications, Enterprise, Government and Small/Medium Business including Lenovo’s Server, Storage, Software and Services business units. He has responsibility over the P&L, strategic planning, architecture, hardware and software engineering, supply chain and procurement, quality, customer service, sales, and marketing across Lenovo Infrastructure Solution Group’s five geographies with business in 180 markets. Under Skaugen’s leadership, Lenovo ranks #1 in performance, quality, and reliability for x86 servers. Lenovo has been recognized by ITIC in a survey of 1000’s of global corporations as the most reliable x86 server for the ninth consecutive year. Since 2018, Lenovo has become the #1 provider of global supercomputers. Committed to solving humanity’s greatest challenges, more than 1 in 3 of the top 500 global supercomputers run Lenovo, including supporting 17 of the top 25 global research universities. Prior to joining Lenovo, Skaugen spent 24 years at Intel, a tenure that included leadership of both the company’s Client Computing Group and Data Center Group as Senior Vice President. As head of Client Computing, Skaugen led Intel’s largest business group with revenue of over $32 billion dollars for the PC, tablet, and phone market segments. As leader of the Data Center Group, he grew the business from $6 billion to over $10 billion in three years while expanding Intel from a server-only focus to an end-to-end data center provider. Skaugen served internationally based in Singapore as General Manager of Intel’s Asia Pacific Solutions Group, responsible for software development, system integrator and CIO relationships across the Asia region. Skaugen holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and was recognized as “Electrical Engineer Alumnus of the Year” in 2014. He serves on the Purdue Business School Dean’s Board of Advisors.
