Imtiaz has led growth and restructuring initiatives for Fortune 500 companies and sovereign funds to help them scale across 4 continents with a keen focus on ESG, DE&I, and digitalization that significantly improved their market cap. Most importantly, he has completed multibillion-dollar M&A deals, investment projects, and programs to drive organic/inorganic growth, business performance improvement, and sustainable change. He had set up corporate venture fund through which he had invested in, and grew numerous start-ups. He is a speaker, presenter, thought leader, and communicator on sustainability and economic development. Currently, as co-founder of Hydeal, he supports the organization in developing multibillion-dollar green hydrogen and low carbon fuel projects across Europe. Over the past years, Imtiaz has been working extensively with various key stakeholders in the EMEA, CIS and APAC regions towards delivering its ambition of being the leading player in the energy transition, renewable energy and high-tech sectors with local content and talent development. Notably, as President and regional CEO of leading companies such as Air Liquide, CIM/CalPERS portfolio company, Air Products, ACWA Power Industrial Investment company (a PIF portfolio company) and KONE, he executed over US$30 billion of investment to develop and execute mega investment projects such as Gasification, Green Hydrogen, and various Renewable Energy Projects. Imtiaz co-chaired the “Energy, Sustainability and Climate” taskforce for B20 Saudi Arabia in 2020 and was part of the B20 KSA Executive committee. He was instrumental in developing both the policy recommendations and policy actions for G20 that were widely accepted by the B20 countries. Imtiaz is deeply passionate about developing technology and talents locally in the regions towards the development of smart cities, sustainability, and technology sectors.
